LONDON (Thomson Financial) - A pay row between facilities management firm
Emcor and airport staff represented by the UK's GMB and Unite unions has been
settled, the GMB said.
All parties involved in the dispute over a wage claim at Heathrow and
Gatwick airports had resolved their differences following discussions between
Emcor UK, GMB and Unite union officials during the past few weeks, the GMB said
in a statement.
"Emcor UK, GMB and Unite have signed a confidentiality agreement and all
parties have agreed not to publish the details of the settlement," the statement
said.
GMB members employed by Emcor Facilities Services at Heathrow and Gatwick
airports voted by more than 4 to 1 in August for industrial action after pay
talks collapsed when Emcor staff rejected an earlier pay offer by the company.
Emcor, part of US-based Emcor Group Inc, designs, builds, instals and
maintains mechanical and electrical systems and offers integrated facilities
management to businesses in a range of economic sectors in the UK.
