first-quarter earnings fell 43 percent due to one-time gains last year and
rising reserves for loan losses.
PASADENA, Calif. (AP) -- Adhesive label maker Avery Dennison Corp. said
Tuesday its first-quarter earnings slipped 14 percent on higher restructuring
and other one-time costs, as well as weak U.S. retail demand.
