LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Military contractor and shipbuilder Northrop Grumman
Corp. said Thursday that its fourth-quarter net income was basically flat
compared with a year earlier, when the sale of a business boosted results.
Revenue in the quarter hit a record.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Nucor Corp.'s fourth-quarter profit fell 10 percent,
the company said Thursday, but the earnings at the steelmaker and scrap metal
recycler still surpassed analysts expectations.
DEERFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Medical products and services company Baxter
International Inc. said Thursday that profit rose 11 percent in the fourth
quarter, as favorable currency-exchange rates drove up revenue.
NEW YORK (AP) -- Business software company Vignette Corp. said Thursday its
fourth-quarter profits nearly doubled on an income tax benefit.
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Matthews International Corp., which makes memorial
plaques, urns, caskets and other products for the funeral industry, said
Thursday its fiscal 2008 first-quarter profit rose 25 percent, helped in part by
a favorable income-tax adjustment.
