profits grew more than tenfold as prices charged by the phosphate and potash
fertilizer maker rose dramatically.
MATTHEWS, N.C. (AP) -- Discount-store operator Family Dollar Stores Inc. on
Friday said fiscal second-quarter profit fell 30 percent, as consumers cut back
on discretionary spending.
