fiscal first-quarter profit fell 25 percent, hurt by lower sales and higher

third-quarter net income jumped 26 percent, in part on strong gains in the Asian
personal computer and consumer product market.
NEW YORK (AP) -- Bankrate Inc.'s profit rose more than fourfold in the third
quarter as more people visited the company's financial Web sites despite
troubled credit markets, the company said Thursday.
HOUSTON (AP) -- KBR Inc.'s third-quarter profit surged from a year ago in
part from its military contracts in Iraq, but its energy and chemicals arm
reported flat results. Its share price fell sharply.
