NEW YORK (AP) -- Aries Maritime Transport Ltd. said Thursday its loss
widened in the third quarter on higher costs and less revenue due to
out-of-service time for two of its tankers.
LONDON (AP) -- The London Stock Exchange Group PLC reported a 32 percent
increase in first-half profits Thursday as market volatility caused by the
global credit crisis drove record trading volumes.
NEW YORK (AP) -- Ship Finance International Ltd. said Thursday its net
income fell more than half in the third quarter, as revenue fell at a higher
rate than expenses and its spot-tanker business delivered lower profits.
PLANO, Texas (AP) -- J.C. Penney Co. said Thursday its third-quarter profit
fell 9 percent, hurt by weak sales in September and October, and the department
store operator slashed its fourth-quarter outlook.
CHELMSFORD, Mass. (AP) -- Shares of Zoll Medical Corp. jumped Thursday after
the medical device and software maker said its fiscal fourth quarter profit rose
more than 26 percent on higher sales of its resuscitation products, including
defibrillators and ventilators.
