EUROPE MARKETS: RBS, Lloyds Climb; Sanofi Slips: Europe's Big Stock Moves

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Here are some of the companies whose
shares made notable moves in European trade on Thursday.
Gainers
Shares of Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) added 1.1% after
the bank said it would relocate its holding company to England in
case of a "yes" vote for an independent Scotland. A referendum will
be held next week.
Lloyds Banking Group (LYG) also said it would move headquarters
to England if the union is broken, sending the shares 1.2%
higher.
Air France-KLM put on 1.9% after the airline detailed a plan for
cutting costs to increase yearly earnings by up to 10% through
2017.
Decliners
Shares of Sanofi (SNY) lost 0.5% after Berenberg cut the French
drug maker to hold from buy.
Ashmore Group slumped 5.2% after the investment manager reported
a drop in full-year earnings.
