BRUSSELS (Thomson Financial) - The European Commission said the deadline for
its enquiry into Foxconn Technology Group's proposed acquisition through its
unit Foxteq Holdings Inc. of some of U.S.-based Sanmina-SCI Corp.'s
personal-computing and logistics assets is set for June 24.
Foxteq will buy some of the U.S. firm's personal-computing related
operations and logistics businesses in Hungary, Mexico and the U.S.
Sanmina said in February it expects proceeds from the transaction, along
with funds raised from sale of some other related assets associated with but not
included in the deal, to be about $80 million to $90 million, depending on book
value of the assets at the time of closing of the deal.
