Dollar General Celebrates Grand Openings of First Stores in New Mexico and
Wisconsin
Two New Mexico Stores in Roswell and one in Truth or Consequences Grand Open

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn., March 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dollar General
Corporation today announced plans to celebrate the grand openings of its first
stores in New Mexico and Wisconsin. The three New Mexico locations grand open on
Saturday, March 6 at 9 a.m., with activities continuing through Sunday, March 7,
while the WisconsinDollar General store grand opens on Saturday, March 13, at 9
a.m., with activities continuing through Sunday, March 14. Ribbon-cutting
ceremonies, give-a-ways, free product samples and sweepstakes drawings are a
part of celebrations planned at each of four locations. The store locations are
as follows: * 1012 South Main Street in Roswell, New Mexico
* 2712 North Main Street in Roswell, New Mexico
* 1920 North Date Road in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico
* 924 Windsor Street in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin "We are pleased to introduce ourselves to the Roswell, Truth or Consequences and

Dollar General has opened more than 600 stores in each of the last three years. In 2003, the Company announced plans to open 675 new Dollar General stores and
20 Dollar General Markets in 2004. As of February 27, 2004, the Company operated
