The Reuters/University of Michigan's preliminary report on consumer confidence for July is due at 9:55 am ET Friday. Ahead of the data, the greenback slipped against its major counterparts.

At 9:50 am ET, the greenback traded at 1.5530 against the pound, 79.22 against the yen, 1.2244 against the euro and 0.9812 against the franc.



NYSE and AMEX quotes are delayed by at least 20 minutes.
