Board Changes
Baobab Resources Plc ("Baobab" or "the Company") (AIM: BAO) announces the
appointment of Mr Ben James as an Executive Director, effective 14 April 2008.
Ben Angus James, aged 36, is a senior geologist with over ten years experience
in the resources industry. He has a BSc (Geology) from University of Otago, New
Zealand. Mr James has held exploration and development roles in a variety of
terrains including the Archaean Greenstone belts of Western Australia,
Proterozoic gold and base metal systems in Zambia, porphyry gold-copper deposits
in the Romanian Carpathians and Ordovician orogenic mesothermal gold
mineralisation in New Zealand's South Island.
Mr James has been employed by Baobab as Exploration Manager since July 2006. As
Technical Director of Baobab, Mr James' role will be principally focused on the
advancement of the Company's projects in Mozambique.
Mr James does not have any current or past Directorships over the past five
years. Mr James currently holds 250,000 options over the ordinary shares of
Baobab. There are no further details required to be disclosed under Schedule 2,
paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules.
Baobab also announces the resignation of Mr Ian Cullen from the Board of
Directors of the Company with immediate effect. The Company would like to thank
Mr. Cullen for his contribution prior to and since admission of the Company.
Mr Brett Townsend, a current director of Baobab, has been appointed as Acting
Managing Director.
The Board also announces the appointment of Mr Jack Penkin as Chief Financial
Officer for Baobab and its subsidiary companies. Mr Penkin is a Chartered
Accountant and a Company Chartered Secretary with over 20 years of experience in
senior accounting and finance roles in a variety of industries in South Africa,
UK and Australia.
