The Board of Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc announces that it has received the
resignation of Chief Executive Officer, Marc Bolland. He will remain in post as
Chief Executive Officer until the end of the financial year.
The Board would like to express its appreciation for the contribution Mr Bolland
has made to the development and success of the Company over the last three
years.
The Board has commenced a process which will be conducted by its Nominations
Committee to review both internal and external candidates for the role of Chief
Executive Officer.
Sir Ian Gibson, Chairman of Morrisons, said: "The Morrisons Group has a strong
and capable senior management team who will continue to deliver the business
strategy which has enabled Morrisons to achieve market leading growth this year
whilst the Board identifies a suitable successor. I would like to thank Marc for
his contribution over the last three years."
The Q3 IMS for the period to 2 November 2009 will be released tomorrow morning.
