BARCELONA-Deutsche ‎Telekom AG (DTE.XE) said on Monday it has started to connect fixed-line networks in three countries in Central Europe.

‎Deutsche Telekom said it connected its networks in Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia. The former German state monopoly plans to connect the fixed-line networks in 10 countries.

The move is possible as Deutsche Telekom has migrated customers from an analog ‎to an all-Internet-protocol network. Deutsche Telekom plans to finish the migration in its home market by 2018. The company plans to invest 6 billion euros ($5.36 billion) in networks in Europe by that year.

Deutsche Telekom said it is the first ‎multinational company to benefit from synergy from cross-border acquisitions, as it now can offer standard services such as television in the three countries without the need to adjust technical specifications for each country.
