BARCELONA--‎Deutsche Telekom AG (DTE.XE) isn't interested in making big acquisitions in markets like Africa, Chief Executive Timotheus Hoettges said Monday.

"We are not going to Africa, we are staying in the markets we are," Mr. Hoettges said at a news conference at the Mobile World Congress, where executives and delegates from the industry have gathered.

Mr. Hoettges didn't rule out smaller acquisitions in markets Deutsche Telekom already operates.
