Delta Apparel Outfits Network with New Sprint Technologies
Wireless Data, Disaster Recovery, Cisco Hardware IP-VPN Highlight Next
Generation Network for Global Clothing Manufacturer
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Delta Apparel , a large
manufacturer and distributor of knit activewear apparel, has selected Sprint to
help it transform its network through a wide range of highly advanced wireless
and wireline voice and data services. The multiyear contract also includes
critical Cisco Systems Inc. equipment required to help upgrade Delta Apparel's
voice and data network. Sprint is providing the equipment as part of an
existing strategic alliance with Cisco.

continuity needs at its distribution centers in Knoxville, Tenn.; Buena Park,
Calif.; and Miami through a high-speed wireless solution that provides mobile
employees with secure, remote access to critical corporate resources.
Sprint is also implementing an international Internet Protocol Virtual Private
Network (IPVPN) that will combine network-based elements and Cisco Customer
Premise Equipment (CPE) based elements. The IP VPN will provide secure, high
speed voice and data connectivity among Delta Apparel's 10 locations, including
manufacturing facilities in the United States, Mexico and Honduras.
As part of its complete suite of voice and data services, Delta Apparelhas also
turned to Sprint for a range of Sprint Managed Network(SM) Services, voice,
Internet and other PCS wireless voice and data services.
