announced today that ABC Stores selected DecisionPoint to automate
their Hawaiian warehouse operation using Wavelink's Speakeasy voice
picking technology.
As a retailer devoted to convenience for the visiting traveler
with a variety of merchandise from drugs and cosmetics to souvenirs
and grocery items, picking small items accounts for a large
percentage of the inventory movement. Employing voice
technology to their picking needs helped reduce picking errors and
increased picking efficiency by 40%. The increased efficiency
enabled warehouse operations to provide a higher level of service
to the stores, reducing labor costs in both the warehouse and the
stores. With the success of this implementation, Mark Flores the ABC Stores warehouse
manager, is now looking to deploy Wavelink Speakeasy
technology to their remote distribution centers.
