NexBank and Dallas Children’s Theater (DCT)
proudly present the Fourth Annual Rosewood Awards featuring a Benefit
Performance by internationally acclaimed Greek-American soprano Gigi
Chakos on April 5, 2008, 7:30 pm, at DCT’s
Rosewood Center for Family Arts.
The Rosewood Awards are presented annually in honor of those individuals
and institutions whose extraordinary contributions to DCT embody the
philanthropic standards established by The Rosewood Corporation’s
support of DCT’s mission. The Rosewood Awards
Committee selects recipients who have demonstrated excellence in
philanthropy and service in three categories: Corporate/Foundation,
Individual and Special Recognition.
This year DCT recognizes Texas Instruments Corporation and The T.I.
Foundation as the recipient of the Corporate/Foundation Awards. Dee and
Charles Wyly will receive The Rosewood Award as Individual Benefactors.
Special Recognition goes to Craig Sutton. In their individual ways, all
have believed in the mission of the theater and supported its growth
since its earliest days.
Robyn Flatt, DCT's Executive Artistic Director, states, "It is with
great pride and honor that we pay tribute to these extraordinary
friends. The Rosewood Awards allow us to show our gratitude for
remarkable contributions and unwavering support through the years."
Cocktails begin at 7:00 pm. The awards show curtain and concert, “From
Berlin to Broadway” starts at 7:30 pm,
followed by a reception. Tickets are $50 or $100 and can be purchased
online at www.dct.org, or by contacting
Reg Platt at 214-978-0110 ext. 168, or reg@dct.org.

Dallas Children's Theater serves more than 260,000 young people and
their families a year through its 10 main stage productions, national
touring company, and education and outreach programs. DCT builds bridges
of understanding between generations and cultures, instilling an early
appreciation of literature and the performing arts in tomorrow's artists
and patrons. In addition to being “one of the
top 5 theaters for children in the country,”
according to TIME Magazine, DCT was recently honored as
the “Best Theater”
by the Dallas Observer in its 2006 Best of Dallas issue.
