BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - Scoreboard maker Daktronics Inc. will build an
integrated video and scoring system for the New York Mets' new baseball stadium,
set to open in 2009, the company announced Monday.
Brookings-based Daktronics will install nearly 12,000 square feet of
equipment at Citi Field, including multiple high-definition video boards, one of
the league's largest out-of-town scoreboards and large LED video displays.
The main scoreboard in center field will feature three video displays to
show live action, instant replays, line scores and other information.
"The system will incorporate our latest HD-X video technology in various
locations, along with other video, scoring and messaging components throughout
the ballpark that will provide great entertainment for Mets fans and great value
for their partners," Reece Kurtenbach, vice president of Daktronics Live Events,
said in a release.
Daktronics recently announced it has won scoreboard contracts for the New
York Yankees' new ballpark and the Indianapolis Colts' new football stadium.
