BIRMINGHAM, Ala., March 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DST Health Solutions (DSTHS), a leading provider of technology solutions and services to health plans, integrated delivery systems, and health care providers has announced the successful implementation of its Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services to MDwise, Inc., the largest nonprofit managed health care company in Indiana.

In March 2012, MDwise began searching for a new services provider to help administer vital operational functions for nearly a third of its 300,000 Medicaid members. After soliciting RFPs from numerous vendors, MDwise selected DSTHS' BPO services as the most strategically aligned and economically beneficial solution.

"DSTHS understood our goals and deadlines. I was very impressed with the amount of resources DSTHS dedicated to the implementation and the commitment of its team to making the plan work," said Jamie Bruce, Chief Development and Marketing Officer of MDwise.

"The leadership at DST demonstrated their commitment to our company by engaging with us on a daily basis to ensure our needs were met and that the switch to production was as smooth as possible," said Charlotte MacBeth, CEO of MDwise.

It was mandatory that the BPO services be operational by the start of 2013, requiring immediate action to meet the short deadlines. Through the combined hard work and resources of both companies, DSTHS was able to begin processing claims on January 2, 2013.

"Implementing a large Medicaid plan in seven months is no small task," said DST Health Solutions President Steve Sabino. "The success of this implementation is a testament to the cooperation and coordination between our teams. This marks the beginning of a great working relationship."

MDwise is leveraging additional DSTHS solutions on top of its full-service BPO administrative services for claims processing.  DST's industry-leading work management tool -- AWD Workflow® -- was previously integrated into the company's existing system, allowing MDwise to use AWD® licenses to perform customer service in house. DSTHS is also providing its 3i transparency engine, a real-time event integration platform, which will provide MDwise with greater insight into its business processes.
