Cubic Global Defense hires retired US Army Lt. Gen. James Terry as senior vice president of business development and promotes Eric Carr as senior vice president of systems operations

Cubic Global Defense (CGD), a business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), today announced the appointment of retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General James Terry as senior vice president, business development of ground strategy. Terry will report to Dave Buss, president of CGD.

As the new senior vice president, business development of ground strategy, Terry will focus on expanding business opportunities for Cubic’s ground training systems and services for the Army, Marine Corps, Special Operations and the Middle East region. He will also be tasked with improving marketing communications as well as managing business teams to cross-sell Cubic products in foreign and domestic regions.

“General Terry’s deep expertise and understanding of the Army and Joint operations in both Europe and the Middle East will be a great asset to Cubic’s NextTraining growth strategy,” said Dave Buss, president of Cubic Global Defense. “James’ insight will be integral as Cubic expands its business in ground combat training systems and services globally.”

Terry joins Cubic with more than 37 years of service in the U.S. Army, where he recently retired as Commanding General, U.S. Army Central Command / U.S. Third Army in the rank of Lieutenant General. In his final assignment, he served as the three-star Army component commander to the U.S. Central Command. Terry was commissioned into the U.S. Army as an Infantry Officer in 1978 and commanded at every level through theater Army command during his distinguished career in the service.

In addition, Eric Carr, former vice president and deputy general manager of integrated training solutions business, has been promoted to senior vice president, systems operations and will also report to Dave Buss. Carr will relocate from Orlando, Florida to San Diego to focus on internal CGD operations, program execution and strategic growth activities. He will also help lead CGD’s business strategy for live, virtual and constructive (LVC) training for combined air, land and naval forces. Prior to joining Cubic, Carr held leadership and senior management positions with SAIC, OSI Systems, GE Transportation and Harris Corporation.
