LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Costco Wholesale Corp. said Thursday sales from
stores open at least a year rose 7% in March from a year ago.
Excluding the impact of the rise in gasoline prices, same-store sales would
have risen 3%, the company said.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial was for same-store
sales to rise 5.9%.
The discount retailer said total sales for the five-week period ended April
6 rose 11% to $6.57 billion.
