BAAR, Switzerland, Dec. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of opening a new, state-of-the-art data center in Ireland, Confidesk (http://www.confidesk.com) is once more shaking up the secure email and file encryption marketplace with lower prices on many of its paid services.

"Privacy shouldn't be expensive," remarked Robert Nemet, CIO of Confidesk. "Our paid and multi-user subscriptions have always been competitively priced, and now their value is even harder to ignore. The monthly price on individual packages is about the same as a quality cup of coffee."

Confidesk packages are organized by total storage space as well as the number of users. The 2 GB package is a good choice for individuals who need just enough secure storage for their most sensitive files and communications; it's not quite suitable for heavy, regular use for an indefinite amount of time. Subscribers who choose the Switzerland data center at signup pay just $3 per month for a 12-month package, whereas the Ireland data center only costs $2 per month.

Those in need of a bit more storage are encouraged to select the 5 GB package. Switzerland and Ireland prices start at $7 and $4 a month, respectively, for 6 months of service.

Confidesk's multi-user accounts enable organizations large and small to enjoy enterprise-level data privacy at a decidedly small business price. The individual who registers a multi-user account becomes the administrator by default. The administrator can subsequently create additional users, access all files and emails within the account, and send emails in the name of created users. The multi-user package has free subscription, consists of an administrator and two users, all three of whom share 100 MB of file storage.

For individuals who aren't quite ready to commit to a paid subscription service, Confidesk still provides a free account option. Anyone can sign up for a free account, and there's no time limit on its use. The free account allows for storage of up to 1,000 email messages with no attachments; free accounts do not, however, include file storage. Account holders can add to their baseline 50 MB of email storage by referring friends and colleagues to the service.

The centerpiece of Confidesk's data privacy solution is client side encryption, a virtually foolproof technique for keeping data out of the wrong hands. Nemet added: "The benefits of client side encryption are tremendous. A quick scan of the technology headlines on any given day will reveal harrowing stories of significant data breaches, hacks and other cybercrimes. Our all-inclusive solution is designed to give ordinary users, business people, small businesses and organizations the kind of robust protection necessary in the digital age. And we want that protection to be affordable, too."
