LONDON -(Dow Jones)- Pan-European telecoms operator Colt Telecom Group S.A. (COLT.LN) said Wednesday that it had appointed Stuart Jackson, previously of Oslo-listed offshore engineer and constructing company Acergy SA (ACY.OS), as the company's new Chief Financial Officer.
Jackson will replace Tony Bates who was CFO from May 2004 until he was appointed Chief Operating Officer in April 2008. Bates has been acting CFO since April.
Jackson was CFO at Acergy for over six years and will join Colt on Sep 7.
Earlier this year Colt said it aimed to raise GBP178 million through a share placing to strengthen its working capital, noting that it has to repay EUR262.2 million of outstanding notes in December.
Colt provides business communications solutions and services within Europe, and has around 50,000 customers in 13 countries, spanning both small and medium sized enterprises, or SMEs, and major companies.
Colt competes against a number of rivals, including BT Group PLC (BT), Cable & Wireless (CW.LN) and France Telecom (FTE).
