CloudOps Creates IaaS Portal, Speeds Revenue Generation with NetApp SolidFire
September 12 2017 - 8:00AM
“The NetApp SolidFire commitment to build and maintain integrations
with open source orchestration platforms that include Apache
CloudStack, OpenStack, Docker, and Kubernetes has allowed our
clients to create performance-oriented storage services that meet
their shared services customers’ needs,” says Marc Paré, vice
president of sales and marketing for CloudOps. “As technology
migrates toward leveraging containers in the cloud, NetApp
SolidFire brings very friendly capabilities in terms of QoS and
persistent storage for the containers, which are key challenges
that multitenant service providers are looking to solve.”
CloudOps, based in Montreal, Canada, is a cloud consulting and
services company focused on helping customers own their destiny in
the cloud. CloudOps uses open source cloud platforms and
networking, and offers multicloud solutions for software
companies, enterprises, and telecommunications providers.
To support its customers in monetizing infrastructure as a
service (IaaS), CloudOps created CloudMC, on-premises subscription
software that provides a one-stop self-service portal for cloud
service orchestrator management and provisioning, including product
catalogs, licensing, billing, and metering. Powered by all-flash
storage from NetApp® (NASDAQ:NTAP) SolidFire®, the solution’s
scale-out architecture makes it easy to add capacity without
complexity, while the automation features and the economies of
deduplication and data compression provide efficiency.
cloud.ca, a regional IaaS service, uses CloudMC for businesses
that require some or all of their data to remain in Canada for
reasons of compliance, performance, cost, or privacy. Accessible in
both English and French, cloud.ca is used by resellers, IT
administrators, developers, and DevOps teams as a scalable,
reliable, and agile framework that optimizes costs and delivers
transparent reporting for chargeback. As a result of using CloudMC,
cloud.ca can now offer performance-oriented storage, with functions
executable via application programming interfaces and persistent
storage for Docker container environments. With CloudMC, cloud.ca
is confident and well positioned to support customer compliance,
cost, and privacy concerns for the foreseeable future.
