NEW YORK (AP) - Shares of telecommunications service providers wavered
Tuesday along with the broader market, with Sprint Nextel Corp. inching lower
after the company reported a wider first-quarter loss and lower sales on Monday.
The broader market was mixed after oil and gas prices hit record highs and a
Commerce Department report showed retail sales fell for the second time in two
months.
Here is a look at how some key telecom stocks performed Tuesday:
AT&T Inc., up 15 cents to $39.26
Sprint Nextel Corp., down 18 cents, or 2 percent, to $9.06
Verizon Communications Inc., up 5 cents to $38.11
Qwest Communications International Inc., down 2 cents to $4.78
