NEW YORK (AP) - Shares of most machinery companies closed higher Thursday,
as the overall market rose after two days of losses, encouraged by a drop in
unemployment claims and a better-than-expected sales performance by discount
retailers.
Here's how some machinery stocks closed Thursday:
Manitowoc Co., down 26 cents at $42.
Terex Corp., up 77 cents to $66.74.
Dover Corp., up 29 cents to $43.76.
Pall Corp. up 44 cents to $36.90.
Deere & Co., down 1 cent to $86.91.
