About the Federally Recognized Tribes of Northwest Alaska
The Native Villages of Ambler, Buckland, Deering, Kiana, Kivalina, Kobuk, Kotzebue, Noatak, Noorvik, Pt. Hope, Selawik, and Shungnak comprise the 12 federally recognized tribes of Northwest Alaska.  Each tribe is governed by a 7-member tribal council elected by members.
