New-Era Workplace Reflects Unique Culture of
Creativity, Collaboration, Productivity and Employee Engagement
Citrix® today announced the grand opening of its new office in
the warehouse district of downtown Raleigh. Citrix transformed an
abandoned warehouse into a 170,000 square-foot new-generation
modern workplace designed to stimulate creativity, collaboration,
productivity, and employee engagement. The environmentally-forward
workplace design, combined with Citrix Mobile Workspace™
technologies, embodies and underscores the company’s core vision of
the mobility-transformed business that allows people to work better
and live better.

The unique spaces in the workplace range from open booths in
high-traffic areas that invite passersby to spontaneously
collaborate; to conference areas made out of retrofitted
transatlantic shipping containers; to meeting spaces in a rooftop
garden that remove the employee from the day-to-day frenzy of the
office environment and inspire creativity. This new workplace,
integrated with Citrix technologies, is an expression of what
business customers need: new levels of flexibility to drive change;
creative space to amplify collaborative, design-led thinking;
support for a culture of work-life balance and healthy lifestyles
that enable greater employee engagement.
Citrix business in Raleigh started with the acquisition of the
company’s secure file sync and sharing solution, ShareFile®. Since
the company’s acquisition of ShareFile in the fourth quarter of
2011, ShareFile revenue has quadrupled and has become a core
element of the company’s overall solution. Jesse Lipson, who
founded ShareFile, continues to drive the vision for this rapidly
expanding business and the company’s commitment to the local
community. Moving forward, the company is expanding the Raleigh
location to include all Citrix teams and be a central hub for local
customers, partners, and the entire Citrix ecosystem.
This innovative perspective is reflected in the revitalization
of downtown Raleigh. The downtown area is evolving into a modern
urban location for tech businesses, restaurants and shops. The
Citrix Raleigh location will be able to accommodate up to 900
employees and offers amenities designed to attract, motivate and
retain high-performing employees. These include a storage facility
for 80 bicycles, along with a bicycle exchange program that offers
employees the chance to ride to lunch or run errands during the
day. The building further enhances employee life with a game room
full of activities chosen by employee vote, including a racquetball
court, basketball court, fitness center, yoga studio and bocce ball
courts. In addition, as a socially responsible corporation, Citrix
developed the building with the community and the environment in
mind. The adaptive reuse building is environmentally sustainable
including a 55-foot-long living wall covered in vegetation, a
two-story ceiling with shades that adjust to natural light and
numerous other features supporting LEED Gold certification.
Quotes
Mark Templeton, CEO, Citrix
“The move to downtown marks an exciting new chapter in the
company’s history as we continue to expand into new markets and
geographies. Raleigh is experiencing tremendous business growth and
has firmly established itself as a hub of innovation on the East
Coast. We’re focused on attracting top tech talent from the area,
and the new space will allow us to showcase the collaborative
culture and technology that is integral to the Citrix vision of
delivering new ways to empower people to work better.”
Jesse Lipson, Vice President and General Manager,
Citrix
“The decision by Citrix leadership to make Raleigh a ‘Tier 1’
location will help us both retain top local talent and attract top
talent from elsewhere, which is good for people and great for our
company. One of our core cultural beliefs is to be an incubator and
a driver of innovation. We love being first – so being first into a
neighborhood that is being reborn is a perfect fit for us. Having a
workplace like this will ensure that we attract and retain the very
best people and that innovation, and the resulting business growth,
will continue to thrive and prosper here in Raleigh.”
Nancy McFarlane, Mayor, Raleigh
“Raleigh is committed to the continued redevelopment of our
downtown warehouse district and we are thrilled that Citrix has
invested in the growth of this community. The area has started to
hum with new activity including new entrepreneurial start-ups, art
galleries, and restaurants. We believe the new Citrix office space
complements the overall modern feel of the surrounding neighborhood
that will help attract more business and top tech talent to the
area while also providing an inspiring environment for existing
employees.”
