today announced that Chinh E. Chu, senior managing director, The
Blackstone Group L.P., will resign from the board of directors effective
April 24, 2008, the date of the company’s
annual meeting of shareholders.
Chu has been a member of the Celanese board of directors since November
2004 and served as chairman of the board from December 2004 until
February 2007. The Blackstone Group exited its ownership position of the
company in May 2007.
