BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China's major power plants produced 516.9 bln kWh of
electricity in the first two months, up 11.3 pct year-on-year, the China
Electricity Council said.
The growth rate was down 5.3 percentage points year-on-year, partly due to
the severe snowstorms in mid-January, the industry association said.
Of the total, coal-fired power plants produced 452.7 bln kWh of electricity,
up 10.7 pct year-on-year, hydropower stations produced 47.86 bln kWh, up 9.7
pct, and nuclear power stations produced 10.53 bln kWh, up 38.6 pct.
Power consumption stood at 523.9 bln kWh during the two months, up 11.93
pct, the council said.
