BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China A-shares finished the morning higher on
follow-through interest after the market's 4.8 pct surge last Wednesday before
it was shut for the Labor Day holiday, dealers said.
Airlines posted sharp gains on hopes that the yuan's recent gains will help
boost their earnings, while banks saw some consolidation after a surge in the
previous session.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ended the morning up 30.05 points or
0.81 pct at 3,723.15.
The Shanghai A-share Index rose 31.42 points to 3,906.64, while the Shenzhen
A-share Index was up 15.80 points at 1,168.35.
The FTSE/Xinhua China A 50 Index was down 1.75 points at 14,949.62 and the
FTSE/Xinhua China A 200 Index rose 80.79 points to 11,228.84.
