Global Human Resources Company Expands Operations
GLASGOW, Scotland, March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Ceridian, one of the largest providers of human resource services in the world, announced today that it is to expand its existing operations in Glasgow by more than 250 new jobs over the next three years.
"It is our objective to scale our Glasgow facility into the most modern and effective center for human resources customer support and software development in the UK," said Doug Sawers, managing director of Ceridian in the UK. "The decision to expand our operations in western Scotland follows an extensive search, during which a number of different regions in the UK were considered. A major consideration, as we recruit more HR and payroll professionals, is the very inherent customer service and IT professional service skills in the area. In order to enhance still further the caliber of potential employees, we will also be establishing links with local education establishments." "The decision by Ceridian to increase its investment in western Scotland is very welcome and has been won in the face of strong competition," said Deputy First Minister Nicol Stephen. First class job opportunities will be created in Glasgow in the fast growing HR outsourcing sector. I am delighted that the Scottish Executive is supporting this exciting expansion with a $5.1 million Regional Selective Assistance grant." "Ceridian's expansion for 250 new jobs over the next three years is a world class venture for Scotland," said Lorna Jack, U.S. based President Americas for Scottish Development International.
