The recently opened wine hot spot proves good taste and green design are a match made in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Cellar360 San Francisco, a wine and culinary retail space and education center, recently won more awards than any other retailer, including a Grand Prize, in the prestigious Association for Retail Environments (ARE) International Design Awards held in March in Chicago, IL.
(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20080505/AQM043LOGO) Cellar360 San Francisco is situated in San Francisco's historic Ghirardelli Square, overlooking the San Francisco Bay. The store boasts a state-of-the-art wine and culinary education center, tasting bar, wine shop and private event space. With more than 200 wines from the best viticultural regions of four continents, Cellar360 provides guests with an international wine country experience without leaving the heart of San Francisco.
When designing the space, the Architecture firm of Miroglio Architecture + Design, in collaboration with Architectural Resources Group, was tasked with preserving the historic beauty of Ghirardelli Square, while also showcasing the amazing views and creating a convivial space that captures the essence of wine country for visitors and San Francisco residents alike. The awards bestowed on Cellar360 underscore the company's commitment to an environmentally-friendly approach, from recycled glass light fixtures to a table made from old Beringer winery barrel staves and the utilization of environmentally friendly metals.
Cellar360's Senior Hospitality Manager Tony Giovanzana, who previously spent his career managing a North Beach wine shop, commented, "This is really an exciting time for San Franciscans. Cellar360 is not a common wine bar and I think our local guests are surprised at what we have to offer. In addition to great wines and delicious dishes, they encounter beautiful views and internal design, exciting educational elements, and a convenient location. These design awards are a wonderful affirmation of our commitment to rejuvenating a historic piece of San Francisco and making it relevant to today." The four ARE Awards won by Cellar360: Grand Prize Specialty Retail, Store Fixture Design, Visual Presentation and Green Awareness.
