MIAMI, March 30, 2015
/PRNewswire/ -- Carnival Cruise Line returned to the Port of
Baltimore and launched a
year-round cruise program yesterday when the Carnival Pride
departed on a seven-day cruise to the Bahamas from the Cruise Maryland Terminal.
Carnival Pride's year-round schedule from Baltimore encompasses a wide range of
departures, from five-day Bermuda cruises to
seven- to 14-day voyages visiting top
destinations
in the Caribbean, The Bahamas and
Florida.
"We are thrilled to be returning to the Port of Baltimore which is such a fantastic cruise
departure point for people in the mid-Atlantic states, the
Northeast and beyond," said Christine
Duffy, Carnival president. "Carnival Pride has just
undergone a massive enhancement program that added a variety of
great new features which, when combined with the wide range of
itinerary options, makes the ship an excellent vacation choice for
consumers and a great selling opportunity for our valued travel
agent partners," she added.
"Maryland values our
long-standing relationship with Carnival and we are delighted to
welcome the Carnival Pride back to her home port at the Helen
Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore,"
said Maryland Transportation Secretary Pete
K. Rahn. "Governor Hogan is focused on building
Maryland's reputation as a place
that's open for business, and today we are pleased that the
Carnival Pride is once again open for business in Baltimore."
Carnival Pride recently underwent an
extensive multi-million-dollar dry dock that added a
variety of the line's Fun Ship 2.0 innovations,
including new dining venues such as Guy's Burger Joint, BlueIguana
Cantina and Bonsai Sushi, exciting bar concepts
like Alchemy Bar, RedFrog Pub and the poolside RedFrog
Rum Bar and BlueIguana Tequila Bar, as well as new
entertainment choices like Hasbro, The Game Show; Seuss at Sea
and Playlist Productions. A massive WaterWorks
water park featuring Green Thunder, the fastest and
steepest waterslide at sea, was added, as well.
Carnival Pride's five-day Bermuda sailings feature two days and one
night at King's Wharf with two fun days at sea. Six-day
Bahamas cruises call at the
popular ports of Nassau and
Freeport, while the seven-day
Bahamas itinerary also includes a
call at Port Canaveral, Fla., with easy access to Orlando's attractions.
Seven- and eight-day eastern Caribbean cruises feature Grand Turk, the
private Bahamian island of Half Moon Cay, and
Freeport. Eight-day Bahamas sailings visit Charleston, S.C.; Port Canaveral and
Nassau.
