Carnegie Learning’s high school algebra, geometry textbooks and online tools accepted statewide by the Texas State Board of Education

Carnegie Learning, Inc., a subsidiary of Apollo Education Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: APOL), announced today that the Texas State Board of Education has approved Carnegie Learning and its programs for high schools for use across the state. Now, Texas high schools can benefit from Carnegie Learning’s blended curricula of textbooks and online learning tools for Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry.

This approval expands on the prior adoption of Carnegie Learning’s middle school programs by the state, now making the company’s full suite of 6th through 12th grade curricula available across Texas. The approved Carnegie Learning programs meet the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards set by the state, are in alignment with all English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS), and are now available immediately to all Texas middle and high schools.

“We are excited to work with schools across Texas to bring Carnegie Learning’s algebra and geometry curricula into their classrooms,” said Erin Simmons, chief operating officer at Carnegie Learning. “This is a great opportunity for Texas students to continue to grow their skills and gain the knowledge they need to become successful members of the demanding 21st century workforce.”

Carnegie Learning works directly with educators through one-on-one teacher development and training programs to help make the implementation of new curriculum programs a seamless one. In addition to the availability of Carnegie Learning’s programs, educators across Texas can also utilize a new online resource to aid them in learning more about Carnegie Learning’s programs. Teachers and administrators can now register at http://www.carnegielearning.com/txhsreview to receive full access to digital samples of Carnegie Learning’s high school curricula, including all textbooks and ancillary materials, as well as the interactive Cognitive Tutor software program.

Carnegie Learning offers a learning environment that extends beyond traditional textbook learning. Based on more than 20 years of research into how students process and learn mathematical principles, Carnegie Learning blends consumable, write-in textbooks with adaptive digital, online tools and resources to create a personalized learning path for each student.
