Alba plc ("Alba" or the "Company")
Cancellation of Deferred Shares
The Company confirms that, in accordance with its articles of association, it
has acted on its discretion to redeem all of the remaining Deferred Shares in
issue in relation to the recent return of capital to Shareholders. All Deferred
Shares have now been cancelled as a result. As was set out in the Circular to
Shareholders dated 27 November 2008, all of the Deferred Shares were redeemed by
the Company for a total aggregate price of one penny. This payment will be made
to a charity of the Company's choice.
Defined terms in the Circular sent to Shareholders on 27 November 2008 bear the
same meanings in this announcement.
