SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Callaway Golf Co. said Thursday it has
agreed to a five-year worldwide licensing agreement with St Andrews Links to
develop dual-branded golf accessories. Financial terms of the deal weren't
disclosed.
The deal allows the St Andrews Links marque to be used on a range of
Callaway Golf products and will directly benefit all seven courses managed by
Callaway.
Official St Andrews Links products by Callaway Golf will include golf balls,
putters, wedges, golf bags, and luggage, among other items.
Purchases of the official merchandise will contribute to the preservation
and maintenance of the links, including the Old Course in Scotland, Callaway
said.
Shares of Carlsbad, Calif.-based Callaway were up 92 cents, or about 5.9%,
at $16.44.
