LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Cal-Maine Foods Inc. said Monday third quarter
net income rose to $57.2 million, or $2.41 a share from $17.4 million, or 74
cents a share in the same quarter a year ago.
The egg producer said sales for the three-month period ended March 1 rose to
$278 million from $175.2 million.
Chief Executive Fed Adams attributed the company's improved performance to
record high egg prices and strong demand.
