BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - Cabot Microelectronics Corp. Thursday reported
fiscal first-quarter net income of $12.2 million, or 51 cents a share, above the
mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial of 47 cents a share.
Revenue for the three months ended Dec. 31 rose 14% to $93.4 million,
topping Wall Street's $91.3 million consensus.
In the year-earlier quarter, the Aurora, Ill.-based manufacturer of chemical
mechanical planarization consumables posted net income of $9.1 million, or 38
cents a share, on revenue of $81.8 million.
Cabot also said it has approved a $75 million share repurchase program.
The stock closed at $33.82 on Wednesday.
