CSC Introduces Fashion Industry Software Application to the U.S. Market

Leading Milan Fashion Application Now Delivered through CSC's Global Support Network

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- CSC (NYSE:CSC) introduced today a market-leading software application, STEALTH 3000, designed for fashion apparel, footwear and accessory companies into the U.S. market. More than half of the Milan fashion market currently uses this enterprise-class merchandise line and supply chain management software to manage and execute their processes from line definition through customer shipment and returns.

Designed from the ground up to meet the unique needs of the fashion industry, STEALTH 3000 balances brand autonomy within a common framework and adapts to the changing needs of a business. Unlike point solutions or industry adaptations of general purpose ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) packages, the flexibility of STEALTH allows customers to avoid compromising how they operate by meeting the unique and varied needs of the fashion enterprise.

In the current U.S. consumer spending environment, the U.S. fashion industry is placing a priority on inventory efficiency, reflected by their information-technology investment plans. According to a recent Apparel magazine thought-leadership report on IT and software trends, jointly developed with AMR Research, 44 percent of its readers said that "merchandising, planning and allocation" ranked at the top of their IT priorities for 2009-10. Success in the current consumer spending environment requires optimal planning and allocation of fashion merchandising lines.

Building on specific fashion industry business processes harnessed from working with 120 active STEALTH clients, fashion companies using STEALTH will benefit from:

-- Complete integration among processes - from customer order management to production and shipment -- Management of future orders and goods allocation process back to the warehouse and boats -- Reduced gap between demand and supply to reduce lost product -- Increased customer loyalty and order fill rates

-- Lower product and administration costs and reduced charge-backs

"Many apparel/footwear companies think of their supply chain organization as transactional, or subservient, or a necessary evil, as opposed to a strategic weapon that they can use," said David Aquino, research director at AMR Research. "They need to think about a broader, integrated supply chain organization that will require interdependent technology to help facilitate better practices."

"STEALTH 3000 has been a successful market-leading fashion application in Milan. We are excited to offer a seamlessly integrated software application to the U.S. fashion industry," said Mary Jo Morris, President, CSC's Technology and Consumer Group. "With CSC's long-standing retail and supply chain experience, we not only understand the business but we understand the customers as well."

CSC employs more than 3,000 retail and leisure specialists dedicated to working with the world's best-known brands.
