its existing Texas calling area by offering its Cricket unlimited
wireless services to Texans in Beaumont, Brownsville, Corpus Christi,
Laredo and McAllen beginning tomorrow. These new markets cover
approximately 2.4 million potential new customers, bringing Cricket’s
national covered POPs to approximately 57 million.
Cricket expects to launch at full retail and network footprint capacity.
Beginning tomorrow, Cricket service will be available through a total of
100 points of distribution in the region including 10 Cricket retail
stores, 37 exclusive dealers and 53 indirect dealers. Cricket’s
entire Texas coverage area now spans approximately 25,700-square miles –
the largest network in the state offered by a no-contract unlimited
wireless service provider. In addition to the new coverage areas,
Cricket service is currently available to Texas residents in Houston,
Bryan/College Station, Temple/Killeen, Austin, San Antonio and El Paso.
