MIAMI, Aug. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Donning suits, pencil skirts, ties, and slacks, a group of publicists from Kreps DeMaria Public Relations & Marketing plunged into the pool at Sagamore, The Art Hotel in a lively demonstration of support for three local charities. Through the splashy act, dubbed their "corporate cannonball," the creative firm hopes to raise awareness for a trio of South Florida nonprofit organizations as well as encourage other corporate groups to have a little pool fun—completely clad in business attire—to help bring attention, and donations, to their own preferred local charities.

The team of publicists took to the pool at South Beach's Sagamore, The Art Hotel on the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 20. The firm's 22-person staff accented business looks with water goggles and momentarily traded iPads and notebooks for kickboards.

During the "corporate cannonball" spectacle, which was documented for a video, Kreps DeMaria pledged to offer monetary support to three local charities. Donations will be made to Centro Mater Child Care Services, Inc., a Miami-Dade County nonprofit organization that provides quality care and education for economically disadvantaged children and families; Give a Buck for Special Equestrians, a Florida-based nonprofit that supports therapeutic horseback riding programs for the disabled; and Miami Bridge Youth & Family Services, Inc., Miami-Dade County's only 24-hour emergency shelter for youths ages 10 to 17.

Additionally, the firm used the watershed moment to dare other companies to follow their philanthropic plunge by demonstrating their own "Corporate Cannonball" and donating at least $100 to a local charity.

"We wanted to do something representative of our firm's creativity that would draw attention to small, local organizations that often get minimal hype for the extraordinary services they provide," said Kreps DeMaria President Sissy DeMaria.

"And we saw this as a great opportunity to come together as a company, give back to our community and encourage other companies to do the same," added CEO Israel Kreps.
