WASHINGTON (AP) - The Business Roundtable spent $1.8 million in the first
quarter to lobby in favor of several international trade agreements and on other
issues, according to a disclosure form.
The group, whose members include Boeing Co., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and
information technology services provider Unisys Corp., also lobbied against "say
on pay" proposals in Congress that would allow shareholders to vote on executive
pay compensation packages.
The group also lobbied on the economic stimulus program approved by Congress
earlier this year, the research and development tax credit and in favor of U.S.
trade agreements with Colombia, Peru and South Korea.
In the first three months of this year, the Roundtable lobbied Congress, the
White House, the U.S. Trade Representative, and the Departments of Commerce,
Treasury, Health & Human Services and Labor.
