LONDON, December 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Building Design's highly anticipated World Architecture 100
global rankings of architectural firms has been released today,
encompassing data from the world's largest survey of architectural
companies, making it the definitive guide of 'who's who' in the
architectural world.
The WA100 compiles its top 100 list by ranking the architectural
practices by the number of architects they employ, with each
practice having an individual profile, delving more closely into
their activity over the past year, such as their signature projects
and insight into their plans for 2015. The leading practices in
fifteen large market sectors are also ranked based on fee income,
and new for 2015, WA100 examines how much control architects have
over projects in different locations around the globe.
Now in its 22nd year, the WA100 is an established
reference point for international research, used by publications
such as the Financial Times and other national newspapers across a
worldwide level.
Thomas Lane, BD editor said,
"This year's survey shows the sector is enjoying strong recovery
with the world's top 100 architectural firms employing 15% more
architects than last year. It also shows firms are getting bigger
with our number one entry AECOM, breaking through the 2,000 barrier
for the first time in the history of the WA100."
Last year US giant Gensler claimed the top spot. To find out
