'Buffalo Stampede' Into Union Station: Adams National Bank Stands
Ready With 2005 American Bison Nickels
WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- On Tuesday, March 1, 2005, The
Adams National Bank (NASDAQ:AANB) is proud to participate in the United States
Mint's National Nickel Exchange, providing the public at face value ten tons,
or approximately $100,000, of the new 2005 American Bison nickels. The
American Bison nickel is the third design in the United States Mint's Westward
Journey Nickel Series(TM), which began with the Peace Medal nickel, followed by
the Keelboat nickel. A law passed by Congress and approved by President Bush
in April 2003 authorized the redesign of the nation's five-cent coin for the
first time since 1938.
The National Nickel Exchange will begin on Capitol Hill with a ceremonial
presentation of the new nickel to the American People. The ceremony will
feature a real American Bison and an American Indian performance honoring the
event. Following this ceremony, The National Nickel Exchange will continue
inside Union Station, where the public can exchange their bills for $2 rolls of
new American Bison Nickels.
The new nickel will be released into circulation on February 28 through the
Federal Reserve System. The National Nickel Exchange will be the first place
the public can obtain the new five-cent coin. Adams Bank employees will be on
hand from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the main hall of Union Station to meet the
demand. $2 rolls will be available for cash exchanges until supplies are
exhausted.
The Adams National Bank is focused on serving minorities, small businesses and
not-for-profit organizations in the Washington, DC area. The Adams National
Bank offers a full line of banking services including business and real estate
loans, as well as deposit services. DATASOURCE: The Adams National Bank CONTACT: Kathleen Walsh Carr of The Adams National Bank, +1-202-772-3711 Web site: http://www.adamsbank.com/
