SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Broadcom Corp. late Tuesday reported
second-quarter net earnings of $134.8 million, or 25 cents a share, compared
with $34.3 million, or 6 cents a share, a year earlier.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters was a per-share
profit of 36 cents.
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 rose to $1.2 billion from $897.9
million in the prior-year period, versus the mean Street view of $1.11 billion.
Shares of the Irvine, Calif.-based provider of semiconductors for broadband
communications closed the regular session up 15 cents at $27.59.
