Bloomberg LP has emerged as the front-running bidder to buy McGraw-Hill Co.'s (MHP) BusinessWeek, The New York Post reports Thursday, without citing sources. The Post says Bloomberg's bid has replaced that of Bruce Wasserstein, owner of New York Magazine and The Deal, as the front-runner. The Post says Bloomberg was approached about buying the magazine before McGraw-Hill began the official auction process in July, but passed because the asking price was too high. The deadline for bids is Sept. 15.
