PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Biomerieux and Quidel have signed an agreement
for long-term cooperation in the field of rapid clinical diagnostics for the
point-of-care.
The French diagnostics specialist will become US-based Quidel's primary
distributor for its QuickVue rapid diagnostics tests outside the US, Biomerieux
said.
Biomerieux will be the exclusive distributor of QuickVue tests in all
countries except the USA, Japan and Scandinavia from May this year.
The two companies said they also intend to jointly develop new rapid tests,
in particular making use of their expertise in infectious diseases.
