FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - Bilfinger Berger AG is interested in buying
commercial real estate manager DeTe Immobilien, which parent Deutsche Telekom AG
has put up for sale, chief executive Herbert Bodner told Westdeutsche Allgemeine
Zeitung in an interview.
"In principle, we are interested," Bodner said, according to an excerpt of
an interview to be published tomorrow.
"And if the right company is on the market at a reasonable price, we would
also consider a major acquisition.
DeTe Immobilien has about 7,000 employees and generates annual sales of
about 1 bln eur. Bilfinger Berger's peer Hochtief AG has also already said it is
interested in buying the company.
Bodner also said Bilfinger Berger is open to possible investments by
financial investors, the newspaper said.
"We could share our portfolio with a financial investor," Bodner said.
"There is currently nothing pending, but if a strategic investment makes
sense and is good for the company I won't rule it out."
