MIAMI, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Benihana Inc., the international chain of Japanese restaurants, recently opened its 59th teppanyaki restaurant at 242 Miracle Mile, in Coral Gables, Florida.
"This is the second South Florida Benihana restaurant that we have opened in the last five months," said Joel Schwartz, Benihana president and chief executive officer. "We are always excited to open a restaurant in our hometown." The 7,000-square-foot, two-story restaurant has seating for more than 200 guests and features 16 teppan tables, including four upstairs, as well as a bar and sushi bar. Chris Smith, CMS Designs, New York, and Buzinec and Associates, Coral Gables created the design of the new location.
The restaurant features Japanese art work and design elements as well as authentic cuisine. Benihana's traditional Japanese-style hibachi steakhouse -- called "teppanyaki" -- takes center stage in the dining experience, where meals are prepared and served by performing chefs.
